Vancouver to Whistler might be a well known drive, but instead of coming back the way you came, why not keep going up to Lillooet, then drive down the Trans-Canada back to Vancouver. This route shows a different side of BC from the coastal mountains to farmland and charming small towns lining the highways. One of the best things about Canada is definitely our small towns. So be sure to take your time and explore the communities along the way, you’ll be glad you did. After reaching Whistler and spending some time exploring the mountain and riding the Peak 2 Peak gondola, head north to Pemberton and enjoy the fantastic scenery, and the nearby Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park offers up a great spot to have a picnic, relax, and cool off on a hot Canadian summer’s day. The road back to Vancouver through Lillooet down to Hope is full of secrets just waiting to be discovered.
